Landscape Design
Giddy Landscapes are here to guide you through the landscaping process from start to finish. When you book your free consultation our staff will work with you to design a space that meets all of your functional and aesthetic needs. This includes considering any maintenance or site-specific constraints.
Our plants are placed to ensure optimal plant health and aesthetic appeal. Where possible we allow for natural water consumption minimising the amount of water need through irrigation.
We work within your budget to select the best plants, rocks, mulch, soil, timber and ornaments to define your outdoor space.
Landscaping Styles
While we don’t like to overly constrain your creative freedom. We find it to be very beneficial to stick to a specific style to help guide you through the landscape design process. We have a few styles that we are continuously working on adapting to help us achieve the best results when designing and building a garden. If you would like to be guided please enjoy the Giddy style guide below:
Please know we are not limited to these designs and would love to work with you to develop new ideas and styles.
Meadow
A Giddy Landscapes meadow style garden typically includes a very lush plant out with many flowering plants and trees. We love to include a meandering pathway through the garden allowing you to get up close and personal with all of the fragrant smells. A feature such as a bench seat will also provide a great place to sit down with a coffee and book if you’re limited by space. This type of garden loves full sun and is perfect for anyone with a bit of a green thumb and doesn’t mind spending a little bit of time in the garden tending to the plants.
Tropical
Our tropical plant out is a great option for all our rainforest lovers. This style option is great for anyone wanting a low - maintenance space in South-facing or low light conditions. These plants love the humidity and a bit of shade as they are used to being shadowed by much larger trees.
Native
The native design style quickly became Giddy’s signature style due to it’s robust and low-maintenance nature. This style suits home owners and tenants who would rather spend time enjoying their garden space than maintaining their yard. The native garden can be achieved in most spaces; however, the more sun the space gets the more the plants will flower. These plants are often bee, bird and butterfly attracting, if you enjoy sharing your space with Australian wildlife. This design is often complimented with a fire pit area for the family to have their own campfire experience.
We will often vary the native garden style’s plants to fit the specific geographical location of the property. This opens up sub-categories of native designs; such as, the coastal native design featuring primarily coastal plants providing the space with a beachy feel.
Award-winning Landscape Design
Mitch Reynolds, our landscape designer and one of our directors, went on to win bronze at the 2025 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show directly after finishing his Diploma of Landscape Design from the Holmesglen Institute of TAFE.
He is passionate about all things landscaping and would thoroughly enjoy meeting with you to chat about your design needs.
Mitch focuses on utilising natural materials and Indigenous Australian plants that are locally sourced, where possible. Our goal is to increase the amount of green spaces throughout Melbourne using primarily renewable resources.
Giddy Landscapes aim to design gardens that elevate your property and evoke a feeling of positivity.
