This project seamlessly blends sophistication with natural beauty.
Corten steel edging gracefully defines the landscape, adding a contemporary edge. Its warm, weathered tones provide a striking contrast against the vibrant hues of native flora.
Meandering pathways adorned with timeless Blue Stone pavers guide visitors on a journey through lush greenery. Each step reveals the meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail that define Giddy Landscapes's signature style.
Locally sourced Granitic sand forms the foundation of this outdoor space. Renowned for its exceptional compaction qualities, the granitic sand ensures a durable surface, perfect for both leisurely strolls and intimate gatherings.
Complementing the natural landscape, native plants including ‘White Correa’ and ‘Blue Fescue’ thrive in their carefully curated garden beds. This north-facing garden is well-prepared to cope with the sun as we thoroughly ameliorated the soil. We allowed the garden to use the water in its natural environment by avoiding installing irrigation. Our tension wire installation adds a touch of design flair while providing structural support for the ‘Happy Wanderer’, a Native climber with purple blossoms. From graceful grasses to vibrant trees, every plant selection reflects Giddy Landscapes's commitment to sustainability and biodiversity.
This Preston paradise is more than just a garden; it's a testament to the seamless integration of art and nature, where every detail harmonises to create an immersive outdoor experience.

It was a pleasure to build this modern garden in Preston for James and Zara’s family. This garden was designed by Penny Star Design and we were able to facilitate the construction of the front and backyard; this included:
- Excavating the spaces.
- Ensuring the correct falls and drainage throughout the property.
- Installing 5mm corten steel edging.
- The construction of three batten fences; including: a main front fence, bin screen and a beautiful Blackbutt timber wood store fence in the back yard.
- Installing a new letterbox.
- Building a raised brick planter box using left over bricks from the construction of the house extension.
- Lifting in the feature rocks and placing them throughout the garden beds.
- Spreading the pebble walkways.
- Laying the TifTough Turf.
- Installing concrete stepper walkways.
- Installing reo-mesh trellises for climbers to grow down the side of the property.
We were really pleased with the outcome of this project. The final result was a collaborative effort between the clients, the designer and our team.

We were tasked with designing and building a elegant yet functional garden for our clients. We were able to arrive to the challenge by building a large open turf area surrounded by a lush green plant out. The elevated garden space makes you feel like you’re surrounded by nature in the middle of a thriving metropolis. We planted in many new feature trees to help add to this feeling. You will never have to lift a finger watering this garden as we were able to supply irrigation to all garden beds underground passing beneath paths and brick retaining walls.
A house like this was in need of a grand entrance so we built this wide ivory travertine staircase without rails to make you feel like you’re gliding to the front door. This is accompanied by a matching landing at the rear entrance of the house.

This was our first project operating under our new name Giddy Landscapes. We loved building this tranquil courtyard for Lucy and Sam. They came to us with a design from @lukemarshall_landscapedesign and we were pleased to execute the garden while putting our own twist on some elements such as the bluestone patio layout.
This lush garden has been planted out with:
- Acer palmatum (Japanese Maple) as a feature tree.
- Anenome hupehensis japonica ‘Alba’ (Windflower)
- Arthropodium cirratum (NZ Rock Lily)
- Cercis canadensis ‘Forest Pansy’ (Eastern Redbud) as additional features.
- Citrus limon ‘Eureka’ espaliered (Eureka Lemon) to climb along the new tension wire against the house.
- Citrus sinensis ‘Washington Navel’ espaliered (Navel Orange) to climb along the new tension against the house.
- Dichondra repens (Kidney Grass) to grow between the steppers and patio.
- Gardenia augusta ‘Florida’ (Gardenia)
- Helleborus ericsmithii ‘Ice Breaker Max’ (Hellebore)
- Hydrangea quercifolia (Oakleaf Hydrangea)
- Iris germanica (Bearded Iris)
- Pittosporum tobira ‘Miss Muffet’ (Dwarf Pittosporum)
- Salvia nemerossa ‘Cardonna’ (Woodland Sage)
- Trachelospermum asiaticum (Asian Star Jasmine) as a ground cover amongst the garden beds.
A huge thank you to Lucy and Sam for having us at their home to build this wonderful garden. We are looking forward to seeing them next time.
Malvern East

Malvern East is a beautiful meadow themed project which is perfect for pondering in as you tend to the garden.
We installed this Australian bluestone crazy pave pathway with a charcoal grout. This makes the path feel like it disappears into the space. It will soon be enveloped by the flowering and whimsical plant out.
Brenda and Peter were such a pleasure to work with and we really appreciated their trust in the process. This was the perfect location for their daughter’s wedding take place later in the year.

We carefully designed the space to include multiple designated areas, such as:
- An additional designated car space in the front yard.
- A fire pit in the back corner that is accompanied by a sentimental feature tree.
- An entertainment/outdoor dining space in the centre of the garden perched underneath the Apple tree.
- A veggie bed zone along the back fence which has been filled with Tuscan pebbles for new veggie planters to sit on top of.
- Finally, granitic sand and bluestone steppers forming pathways to connect all the spaces.
This garden includes all our signature materials and bends utilising corten steel, granitic sand, tuscan pebbles and Tall Fescue turf.
A huge shout out to Ray and Yvonne for inviting us into their space and allowing us to build such an impactful garden. Their hospitality was unreal and definitely a job site that will be missed.

We were contracted by our client Lisa to create this outdoor entertainment area that will soon be enveloped by greenery. The passionfruit vines will grow up the tension wire on each pergola post to create a canopy above the granitic sand.
We have surrounded the space with a lush plant out using the carefully selected plants below:
- Magnolia grandiflora ‘Little Gem’
- Arthropodium cirratum (New Zealand Rock Lily)
- Citrus limon ‘Eureka’ (Eureka Lemon)
- Citrus sinensis (Valencia Orange)
- Hebe hybrida ‘Pretty n Pink’ (Hebe)
- Heuchera micrantha ‘Palace Purple’ Coral Bells)
- Hydrangea quercifolia ‘Snowflake’ (Oak Leaf Hydrangea)
- Liriope muscari (Lily Turf)
- Murraya paniculata (Mock Orange)
- Passiflora edulis (Passionfruit)
- Pieris japonica (Japanese Andromeda) ‘Temple Bells’
- Pittosporum tenuifolium (Golf Ball Pittosporum)
Last but not least we were able to give the existing veggie box its moment to shine by building a corten steel perimeter filled with granitic sand to tie it in with the rest of the garden.
We hope you enjoy this space as much as we do. We were very happy with the result we achieved for Lisa and her family. Excited for them to use it for the years to come.

We’re excited to share this review from our legend client Lukas and shout out to Erin for supervising the project.
“We’re honestly so happy with the work Mitch and the team at Giddy Landscapes have done. The finished garden looks amazing — exactly what we were after! They created a native Australian coastal-style space that feels natural, relaxed, and really well thought out.
From the first consultation to the final day of construction, everything went smoothly. Mitch was great to deal with — super responsive, even after hours, and nothing was ever too much trouble, including a few last-minute changes we threw at him. The whole team worked hard to get things done on time, and it really shows in the end result.
We also really appreciated their sustainable approach — reusing old materials where they could and designing with the environment in mind.
We highly recommend Giddy Landscapes and will definitely be getting them back for our next landscaping project. Thanks again, Mitch and team — we’re absolutely wrapped with how it all turned out!“ - Lukas
Thornbury
02/2025
In Thornbury we installed these lovely wide corrugated steel planter boxes painted with a monument colour. They were placed out on top of pink salt screenings and edged in with corten steel. This area was chosen due to its sun loving location allowing the veggies to reach their full potential.
As we always recommend when it comes to turf, we have chosen a Tall Fescue grass to fill out the backyard. This grass has a deep green colour and is far less invasive than other grasses. This has allowed us to remove the need for edging between the turf and Creeping Thyme/bluestone stepper pathway.

This project was organised and designed by property developer Amanda and we were thrilled to take part in the landscape construction.
The front of the property offers a whimsical theme, with a meadow-like pathway that leads you to the entrance.
In the back, a lush Tall Fescue lawn welcomes you to a curved bench firepit area, with tall Ficus ‘Flash’ trees and numerous Magnolias providing a sense of privacy. One can also enjoy some recreational gardening in the veggie planter space, nestled under the Persimmon tree.
Burwood East
09/2024
Designed by us, this was a full back yard redo that properly marked our shift from mostly softscaping into hardscape design and construction. Naheed & Dele came to us wanting to make a dull back yard into an inviting entertainment space. They felt there was too little patio, and much of the space had poor drainage that needed improvement, and we were up for the challenge
We started by extending the patio area concrete slab, and re-paving with Australian Offcuts 20mm Bluestone crazy paving, ensuring to improve the drainage while doing so. This allowed for a larger entertainment space for them to place their BBQ and have an outdoor lounge. We added further garden beds around the exterior with corten steel edging, and matched the pre-existing Bamboo screening with some Jungle-like plantings. Next, the grass was upgraded to our favourite, Tall Fescue. And last, we put some finishing touches of Star Jasmine on criss cross tension wire, and varying size planters on the patio.
Elwood
01/2025
We completed this beautiful courtyard paving job we completed for Fiona in Elwood. We used bluestone pavers in a French pattern surrounded by lush plants in planter boxes and pots. The space has also been complemented with bamboo screening and river rocks to make it feel calm and inviting. This is a great example of how you can use your small space to the fullest.
Here is our plant list:
- Arthropodium cirratum aka New Zealand Rock Lily
- Bambusa textilis gracilis aka Slender Weaver Bamboo
- Heuchera micrantha 'Palace Purple’ aka Coral Bells
- Ligularia reniformis aka Tractor Seat Plant
- Philodendron xanadu aka Winterbourn Philodendron

We had such a fun time landscaping Kerry and Jeff's garden. We wanted to design a space that was easy for them to maintain into retirement and would provide space to entertain their growing family.
Here is what we landscaped:
- A new paved BBQ/sitting area using bluestone pavers in a French pattern.
- Dromana topping walkways down each side of the property.
- Corten edging for all the pathways.
- Timber sleeper edging for the back garden bed.
- Lilly Pilly trees along the back fence for screening.
- Tall fescue turf for the lawn area.
St Kilda East
08/2022
Our first full landscape renovation, this project involved the design and construction of a cottage garden in the front yard. What was previously a patch of dirt, we were able to transform into a colourful showcase as you enter the home. We installed simple edging, hardy Kikuyu turf with stepping stones, a range of different flowering shrubs, and Magnolia ‘Teddy Bear’ trees as a screen along the East boundary.
